MTU is the 'maximum transmittable
unit' of data sent across
the ADSL broadband network.
Overall download speed
is affected by many factors
(see here
for more details) and changing
the MTU can cause other
issues - so if you are getting
good download speeds we
do not
recommend you change this.
However, for some users
who are getting slower than
expected download performance
(due to packet fragmentation)
altering the MTU to 1458
bytes may
in some cases result in
improved download performance.
