| As
stated in a previous question
(see here)
we aim
not to block ports to restrict
access to the Internet.
However, P2P (peer-to-peer)
usage often puts excessive
demands on the network and
may cause an overall reduction
in performance for all users.
Users making use of P2P
applications typically consume
disproportionate amounts
of traffic. Typically it
has been seen that less
than 10% of users (using
these applications) consume
over 70% of the traffic.
Obviously due to the shared
/ contended nature of ADSL
broadband this can impact
access speeds for other
users.

Usage Policy - in particular
the sections on Copyrighted
Material and Traffic Usage.
